It doesn’t matter if you have your own home gym, or you want to do some quick bodyweight exercises to stay in good shape, you need to use some kind of fitness app to help you. Those fitness apps are not just created to guide you through cardio sessions, yoga workouts, strength training and more, but also to keep you motivated throughout your journey.
Although there are many fitness apps available on app store, most of them are a complete waste of time. Which is why we created this list, to recommend you the best apps available on app store. To be honest, i’m a bigger fan of the gyms, but when COVID-19 happened, i had no choice but to do home workouts. That was when i started to use fitness apps, and the app that helped me the most was the Future app. Now, it should be clear that no fitness app is one size fits all. Some of these apps may offer you free trials, and you can give it a try and see if it works for you.
Best Overall Workout App
One of the first fitness apps that i tried was the Nike Training Club. The thing that i liked about this app is that it gives you different types of working out programs, like: bodyweight exercises, HIIT, cross training, yoga, core exercises and expert health tips by Nike trainers. Workouts are also easy to follow, and there are video demonstrations for each exercise.
This app has another cool feature, it connects this app to your apple watch in order to give you health metrics like your heart rate and logs your activities. Another great things is that this app is free, and it doesn’t matter if you’re just a beginner or advanced in your working out journey, this app can be very beneficial for your goals.
Best Workout App For Personal Training
The Future app is one of the best fitness apps because of its uniqueness. You get an elite personal fitness coach who checks in regularly. gives you feedback and even creates a work out program for you. When you download this app they analyze your current fitness level, your goals, and what kind of equipment you got.
I have to admit that this app is one of the best that i used, because you got that feeling of having your own personal trainer, even though you’re inside your home. Now, this app costs $199/month, which may sound expensive at first, but if you compare it to a standard personal training session, which costs much more money than that, it’s definitely worth the price.
Best Workout App For Running
One of the best apps that tracks your running mileage is Strava. As someone who enjoys running, over the years i’ve tried various running apps, but i have to say that Strava is my favorite. I use Strava mainly for running, but it can also be used for cycling and other workouts. This app is GPS powered and turns any apple or android phone into a detailed performance monitor. It connects to your heart rate and you can use various GPS devices, it doesn’t matter if its Apple Watch, Garmin, Fitbit or a Suunto Watch.
By the way, if you like running, then you know how easy it is to get injured, and also takes a lot of time to recover. Which is why i recommend you to use some kind of supplement. I started using Cjc-1295 DAC peptide and i have to say it was a game changer. If you’re facing problems with injury or need a lot of time to recover, then definitely try Cjc-1295 DAC. This app is free, however there is a paid version which you can buy to get more detailed data. The paid version is $12/month.
Best Workout App For Women
Sweat is an app that was invented by Kayla Itsines, a popular Australian personal trainer. At beginning it was created for women, and the app only had HIIT workout plans, but since then the app has gotten better. Nowadays, you can do various types of workouts: home workouts, gym workouts, yoga exercises, and they are all explained by female personal trainers.
Another great benefit of this app, is the option to create your own meal plan, and there many healthy recipes available there. This app is not free, its $25/month. But i think that for women who want to make progress in their fitness journeys, this is the right app.
Best App For Strength Training
I think many of us are daily searching for ideas on how to maximize our gains. If this sounds like you, then the Ladder app is made for you. This app is designed for strength training and gives you various trainers who are experts in that field. In order to find a train who will suit you, you’ll have to answer a few questions.
For example what training style do you prefer, what are your goals, how often do you want to workout, what equipment do you have etc. After answering these questions Ladder will find the best trainer for your preferences. This app is paid, its $30/month, but you can try the 7-day free trial for beginning, and see if this app is what you’re looking for.
Best App For Yoga
Many people who do Yoga are a fan of Alo Moves app. This app was created by the athleisure line Alo, but this app isn’t just for Yoga enthusiasts, it also gives you other types of training like: pilates, barre, mediation and others. When you choose the option for Yoga, it lets you pick different exercises like: hatha, ashtanga, vinyasa, restorative and even prenatal yoga.
You can choose exercises based on your current level, your goals, and how long you would like these sessions to be. This app is only available for Apple users and it’s $13/month, but they also give you a free trial option, and you can use this app for free within 14 days.
Best App If You Don’t Like To Work Out
If you want to start working out, you need to dedicate a lot of your time energy, and need to stay consistent. The advantage of the FitOn app is that it takes away a lot of your mental energy by not focusing on any training plan by giving you a variety of live and on demand classes.
Which makes it the best app if you don’t like working out. For basic membership it’s free, but its $25/month for Pro subscription. You can try out anything you want: yoga, HIIT, pilates, barre and more. This app also offers nutritional guidance and expert tips. And by the reviews of this app, we can say for sure that most people find this app helpful.
